10 months

So at 10 months our little love bug is every where all the time. When she is awake, which seems like most of the time now, she doesn’t sit still and moves from activity to activity every few minutes. Its getting more difficult to play with her, as her attention span and desire to sit still with mommy has dramatically decreased.

Her favorite game is see how much I can climb on things before mommy actually gets mad at me. She scales the couch, the ottoman, the recliner, tthe tv stand, the nightstand by the bed, the computer desk, and she has started trying to climb in and out of the tub. If there is a box she can get into, she will climb right in. She seems to think anything and everything as an obstacle to literally get over.

She is definitely heavier, though I’m not sure how much she weighs at the moment. Her top two teeth have broken through (the second one actually broke through today), so she now has 4 teeth. Its breaking my heart.

She eats so well and so much! We’ve introduced pretty much everything at this point, including citrus, eggs, and most meat. So far, no reactions, which has made me incredibly happy. When she had the eczema outbreak I really thought we’d face some food allergies, but so far at least, we’re in the clear. She seems to love oranges and fruit in general, but cheese, in any form or flavor, is definitely her favorite. She still eats a lot of beans and now we’re introducing eggs and tofu as other sources of protein. She doesn’t eat a ton of meat, but only because we really don’t give it to her all that often. She is definitely at a stage now where she prefers to feed herself and trying to get her to eat a puree or yogurt from the spoon can be a long messy process. She eats oatmeal every morning (to get her biotin) and when she is really hungry, she does ok with it, but it can be a struggle.

Right now, she is standing up at the ottoman, eating her lunch from the bowl I put there, and sharing with the dog. She seems to think he deserves every 4th bite and he agrees. At dinner time, we know she is done eating when she starts sharing with him. She will literally look for him and then drop the food. She also likes to hand it to him and have him lick her fingers. At least she is considerate right? Now she has dumped it all the ground for him. This is the second time she has turned her bowl over and dumped her food. She also likes to do that with her plate and to throw her sippy cup off the table.

She talks to us pretty constantly now. Its mostly bababa, mamama, and dadada, but she has started to do this thing where she sticks her tongue out and goes “loy, loy, loy” or “doy, doy, doy” (both said kind of like toy but with the l or d at the beginning). Its so cute and kind of hilarious looking. She has also learned no, though  most the time it sounds more like “ne”, it carries the same sentiment. Almost every time I lay her down for a diaper change I hear, “nie nie nie’

We’re still fighting sleep all the time but she isn’t crying when she wakes up anymore (at least most of the time). She’ll whine a little or we’ll just hear her in there talking and know she woke up.

She is also standing up independently all the time and can squat and then stand back up without touching anything. This is suppose to be a sign that she is ready to walk but she has made it clear that she does not enjoy walking. Every time we try to help her walk (or make her, rather) she makes an ugly face and it usually ends in crying. So weird.

Dancing and singing to RUSH, or any music, is always a good time and she has started to clap her hands when I say patty cake. She loves to share whatever she is holding with us but will also throw a fit if we take away something she wants to keep.  She thinks its hilarious when we play a game where I roll her a ball then she hands it back to me; it makes her laugh every time for some reason.

She has got such a social happy personality and she has really become such a good, fun, easy baby with a strong will and a huge independent streak. She is a trooper when we take her out and drag her around all day, even if she misses naps. She is a daredevil and a little bit naughty but these past few months have shown me that I am truly lucky to have such a great baby.
